ToneMarker — Yoruba Tone Marking Tool

Every tone mark returned by this tool is drawn directly from verified native-speaker Yoruba text. When the corpus does not resolve a word, the tool says so honestly. No invented tones. No statistical guessing.

A note on tonal ambiguity. Output is drawn from attested corpus text. Monosyllabic words such as ni, si, lo, wa, ko, ba may need review as context determines their tone. The confidence score below counts these as matched once a grammar rule applies, the same as a verified dictionary word — so a high score does not guarantee every monosyllabic word is correct.
Unmatched words detected (highlighted in red above).
These items have been logged for review and will be incorporated into the next database update within 24 hours. We invite you to resubmit the same text after that period for improved coverage.

For large documents requiring immediate professional annotation, please write to acelearnservices@gmail.com. Professional tone marking is available from $80 per 1,000 words. Full pricing is available in the Services section below.
A note on methodology. ToneMarker operates by matching input text against a verified reference corpus of over 12 million Yoruba words, sourced from documented native-speaker materials. Tone marks are assigned at the sentence, trigram, and word levels in order of precision. The system does not generate tones algorithmically or through machine learning inference. All unmatched items are flagged and referred for human review. For documents where linguistic precision is paramount, we recommend our professional annotation service.
